[Resource] Dota 2 Render Collection

    I posted these on another forum. They're renders of Kunkka's new dota 2 concept art. Feel free to use them for whatever :D

    I might do more... but so many of the heroes are covered by one another there are only a couple that I can get full renders from. Anyways enjoy! Can't wait for DotA 2.

    Viper might be Visage, but since it's green it kind of fits with the poison theme of Viper so that's what I settled on. Also, I know it's Tide Hunter because if you look under void he is holding a fish. Rest are pretty obvious.

    any renders i post in here anyone can use. BTW, haven't updated this for awhile, I've done a bunch more:

    I'm going to upload a .zip with all the renders in it eventually, cause I think photobucket is downsizing them. Not what I want, so I'll just have to do it this way.

    Anyways enjoy and feel free to use them for sigs n what not.

    p.s. the white fringe you see on some of the artwork renders isn't actually there if you check it against a black background, I' not sure why it shows it as being there. Maybe cause they're being resized, but I'm not sure. I'll upload that .zip asap.

    I'd think I prob spent around 8 hours on all the renders I've done. It wasn't too hard to do these renders, it's just time consuming. I use a 'pass' system where I get several passes of the render using different tools, and then combine them to form a single render.

    1. Use pen tool, cut out the stock as close as you can to the original curves.

    2. Use quick selection tool and grab a fairly decent selection of an uncut version of the stock picture, then use Refine Edge to beef up your selection

    3. Fix any apparent impurities in each 'pass' of the render by clearing either layer with the brush tool, and fix any mistakes

    4. For the effects, I grab the channel where they are at their brightest, copy it, and the increase the contrast using the Level adjustment on that channel only. From there I select the channel and cut it from yet another untouched stock

    5. Then I go back and use the quick selection tool, and try to get the best selection I can on the effect from another uncut stock. Then I fiddle with radius settings in refine radius, and use the tools in there to get a near perfect selection of the effect. This also works great for any hairs or very fine details.

    Then once it looks close enough to the original I'm done. There isn't exactly any set steps I use for it, I'll sometimes shift them around, you can do pretty much all of them at any time.

    Maybe someday I'll do a full scale tutorial.
