How do I force a custom resolution of 1366x768 or any resolution as long as the image is squeezed( black bars on top and bottom) on a 19" 4:3 aspect ratio monitor? When I try to modify the aspect ratio from 4:3 to 16:9 the image streches itself on the whole screen. The game is too zoomed playing DotA this way.

Let me see here if i get it right.

You want to force a 16:9 in to a 4:3???

That means you wan't to force widescreen on a none widescreen?? Correct me IF I'm wrong but that seems a bit unrealistic

Otherwise you can try by right clicking on the dota 2 in your steam libary. then press the proprieties button and then. "-h1366 -w768" (ofc with out the ")

you would have to set launch options and do it manually with the -h and -w like the above poster said.

It won't make black bars, it will be in windowed mode I believe.

I believe you have to go to the settings for your graphics card or your Intel integrated graphics. There will be an option under resoultion that asks how you want full screen games to be handled. You can set it to stretch or native and maybe a few other options.

I did that but nothing happened, tried different resolutions, same result.

So how do i restart these settings? Removing "-windowed -h 768 -w 1366" doesn't work

You should be able to just go into video options in the actual game and change it to something else.

Those launch options just set the resolution/display when you start the game so it may save the settings as well. If you removed the text from the launch options just go set your video options manually and it shouldn't change the next time you start the game.

Or you can just change the settings directly in the launch options to what you do want.
